The club are delighted to have been recognised by the Scottish Football Association as the ‘Best Community Football Club’.
Committee members John Sime (left) and Dave Kelly (right) were presented with the award by Scotland manager Steve Clarke at the annual awards ceremony at Hampden Park.
The annual Scottish FA grassroots awards presented by McDonald’s and the Sunday Mail aim to recognise and reward people across the country that make a difference to grassroots football in their local community.
The awards are split into regional and national categories and grassroots clubs, coaches and volunteers from any of the six Scottish FA regions can be nominated.
The ‘Best Community Football Club’ award is a national award given to a Football Club which has shown strong growth and progress both on and off the field.
Speaking after the award, Trish Sime, Bonnyrigg Rose Community Football Club’s Development Manager said:
“The club are absolutely delighted to receive this award as it recognises the efforts of all the players, coaches, parents, volunteers and committee members as we strive to make our club better. We are rightly proud of the direction we are going and are now more than ‘just’ a football club as we have initiatives in mental health, with old folk, with youngsters, mums and dads and this is just the start.”
