Bonnyrigg Rose Football Club has supported Positive Mental Health for some time and they are really pleased to be launching a new service in partnership with ‘Health In Mind’. The project concept has been driven by local lady Claire Marsland who is also a founder member of local group ‘ Mums Walk’.
The new service is a peer support group for men, with a focus on men talking about how they are feeling. It’s called #MidlothianMenMatter . The group is facilitated by men for men in the Midlothian area.
There was lots of support for the launch event which took place on 10/12/2019 with support from Police Scotland, the SFA, GMB Union, Gold and Gray Soccer Academy, Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic, Bonnyrigg Rose Football Club, Tiny Changes, Local Faith Groups, Local Councillors and a local MSP who all came along to support the launch event.
Weekly meetings will be held at the club’s Pavilion at Poltonhall, providing a neutral space with sufficient facilities to make it comfortable and discreet. The team managing these sessions are qualified to support those that may have suicidal thoughts as well as general stress and anxiety concerns.
There is no need for a referral, please just go along if you feel you need someone to speak to or you feel you need help. We have the best people to support.
The first group will meet on 17/12/2019 at 7.30 at Poltonhall Pavillion . It will resume on 07/01/2020.
