#MidlothianMenMatter – Launch Event

Wednesday 11th December 2019

Bonnyrigg Rose Football Club is very proud of the programme it’s developed which supports sharing information and giving support to those in the community that are interested about Mental Health.

In partnership with ‘Health and Mind ‘ the club has launched a peer support group for men to talk … Run by Men for Men.

The idea came from local lady Claire Marsland, who is also one of the founder members of ‘Mums Walk’, a peer support group for Mums, new Mums that feel the benefits of meeting up with others and sharing the challenges that come along with being a parent and especially a new parent.

The launch event was supported by the SFA, GMB Union , Police Scotland, Local Councillors, MSP, Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic, Local Faith Groups, Bonnyrigg Rose Football Club, Gold and Gray Football Academy and Tiny Changes . A great support for the launch of a well needed resource.

If you’re a man in Midlothian that’s feeling low or struggling with something and would like to have a safe place to go and share your thoughts with people that care and can help the group will meet every Tuesday night. There will also be the opportunity of 121 support. The initial meeting is on 17/12/2019 at 7.30 pm at the Football Clubs Sports Pavillion at Poltonhall. The group will resume on 07/01/2020.

If you would like further information or help over the festive period – please visit midspace.co.uk for support information and advice.

If anyone is looking for information or literature to share about #MidlothianMenMatter with employees, friends, family members, colleagues – please don’t hesitate to get in touch with trish@bonnyriggrose.org.uk at the club or the Orchard Centre on 0131 663 1616.
